What examiners said
Many answers given were correct. A few candidates seemed not to understand the square root symbol so divided 81 by 2 instead.
— Examiner report, February/March 2024, 0607/12 Q2 (Cambridge)
The very few incorrect answers included 3, 9√9, 9 × 9 or 92.
— Examiner report, October/November 2023, 0607/11 Q3 (Cambridge)
Many candidates started this question well and attempted to multiply top and bottom by 5 + 1 . Many mistakes were then seen when squaring 5 on the numerator and expanding and simplifying the double brackets in the denominator.
