What examiners said

This is a familiar type of question, and many did very well, gaining at least one mark. There was some confusion about the meaning of the symbols so often the –3 was omitted and 2 added to the list.

— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0607/11 Q10 (Cambridge)

Many answers were correct. Some candidates did not understand the square root symbol and gave 72 as their answer as if it meant division by 2. Other answers such as 22 and 7 were seen.

— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0607/11 Q11(a) (Cambridge)

Here the common incorrect answers were 33, 93, 43, 27, 36 or 81. The answer of just the power, 4, was not correct. This is another example that the instruction in the question needs to be followed.
