What examiners said

Comprehensive responses • Many candidates identified the transformation correctly and a considerable number of them found the centre correctly. Limited responses • It was extremely rare to see a correct scale factor with 3 or –3 often seen or no attempt made at all. • Some transposed the coordinates of the centre with (1, –5) seen. • Few candidates identified more than one transformation, and res...

— Examiner report, February/March 2026, 0580/12 Q21(a) (Cambridge)

Comprehensive responses • There were quite a number who managed to draw a correct image. Limited responses • Some rotated the triangle around the wrong centre of rotation or rotated the wrong triangle. • Some candidates drew more than one triangle in their response. • A few had the right idea although at least one of the vertices on their image was beyond reasonable accuracy.

— Examiner report, February/March 2026, 0580/12 Q21(b) (Cambridge)

Comprehensive responses • Some candidates found all 3 points correctly, while others had the right idea although made arithmetic slips, for example (11, 10) or (16, 1), which were often seen. Limited responses • Many did not make any attempt at this part of the question. • The point (7, 4), common to object and image, was often the only point of the three correct. • Some gave answers for, or show...
