What examiners said
More than half of the candidates gave the correct answer. A variety of incorrect names were seen in this part, including diameter, chord and sector. The most common wrong answer was ‘straight line’. As in part (a)(i), the question stated that the line was straight, so this will not gain a mark.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0607/12 Q3(a)(ii) (Cambridge)
Only a small number of candidates were able to draw a tangent at Y on the circle. Most of these correctly used a ruler for their line. A significant number of candidates did not attempt this part of the question.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0607/33 Q3(b) (Cambridge)
This question had a diagram to help candidates visualise the context. Some candidates found the area of a whole circle with radius of 6 cm. A few candidates did not read the question carefully enough and so did not leave their answer in terms of π. Candidates who got 12π from a wrong method such as 2 × π × 6 (the full circle’s circumference) did not get any marks.
