What examiners said
Marks across the whole range were seen. Most candidates clearly had sketched the correct parabola on their graphic display calculator, as evidenced by their answers, although many did not show the sketch. Many candidates, however, did not give their answers to the required 3 significant figures. Many also gave the incorrect inequality symbols and –1.73 < x < 0.852 was fairly common.
— Examiner report, February/March 2025, 0607/42 Q8(b) (Cambridge)
Many candidates gave the correct asymptote of x = 1.5 but some omitted the ‘x’.
— Examiner report, October/November 2023, 0607/43 Q10(b)(ii) (Cambridge)
There were many correct solutions, with candidates showing good manipulative skills in dealing with the algebra. When errors did occur, it was usually because of a sign error in the expansion of the expression 4 ( 2 − x )( 3 − 2 x ) .
— Examiner report, October/November 2023, 0607/43 Q10(b)(iv) (Cambridge)
