What examiners said
This question proved very demanding. The first part was well done by the better candidates, but most found the second part very difficult. Many confused union and intersection and many omitted the brackets from the second part even if they had some appreciation of what was required.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0607/41 Q4 (Cambridge)
Only a minority of candidates could successfully describe the shaded region.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0607/43 Q16(a) (Cambridge)
Candidates were more successful with the first Venn diagram than with the union diagram. Some said this second one was P ꓵ Q. Candidates must remember to use the correct names of the sets as a few gave their answer to the second diagram as A ꓴ B. A few incorrectly gave n(A’) and n(P ꓴ Q).
