What examiners said
Some candidates did well with this question, ticking the correct two boxes. Many others gained partial credit, identifying one type of radiation successfully.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0653/32 Q9(a)(iii) (Cambridge)
Most candidates applied wavelength data in the question to identify ultraviolet light as a wavelength detectable by the telescope. A common error was to include microwave radiation at the other end of the range due to missing the change of unit from nm to mm.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0653/43 Q9(c)(ii) (Cambridge)
Some candidates answered this question successfully. Incorrect responses included green, blue and white.
— Examiner report, February/March 2025, 0653/32 Q8(b)(i) (Cambridge)
