What examiners said
Almost all candidates were able to identify a time from the appropriate part of the graph. Candidates should be selecting a time on the slope rather than at a point where the acceleration finishes, in this case 40 s, as this shows better understanding of the speed-time graph.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0654/32 Q9(a)(i) (Cambridge)
Most candidates recognised that the graph showed the rocket accelerating, which was an insufficient response on its own. However, only the strongest candidates recognised that the acceleration was changing or increasing.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0654/41 Q10(a)(i) (Cambridge)
Many candidates correctly understood the need to calculate Δv and Δt and use these values to calculate the deceleration. The majority of errors were seen in the quotation of the units, m / s was a common incorrect answer.
