What examiners said

Candidates who did not score commonly wrote osmosis or evaporation. Candidates need to carefully consider the information provided. In this case evaporation could not gain credit because it happens within the leaf, which they were told in the stem of the question. Those candidates who wrote diffusion were credited for correct science.

— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0973/31 Q1(d)(i) (Cambridge)

Most candidates gave the correct answer of stomata, but all the options were seen.

— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0973/31 Q1(d)(ii) (Cambridge)

Stomata was the correct response. Xylem and leaf were common incorrect responses.

— Examiner report, May/June 2022, 0973/31 Q10(c) (Cambridge)
