What examiners said

Almost all candidates were able to correctly calculate the mean. Only a handful failed to round to the nearest whole number.

— Examiner report, May/June 2023, 0973/41 Q4(d)(i) (Cambridge)

The relationship between light intensity and the rate of photosynthesis was almost universally identified. Fewer candidates, however, identified that the rate of photosynthesis became constant after a distance of 40 cm was reached.

— Examiner report, May/June 2023, 0973/41 Q4(d)(ii) (Cambridge)

Most candidates recognised that the rate of photosynthesis initially increased with increasing light intensity, after which the rate stayed constant. Some suggested incorrectly that photosynthesis stopped.
