What examiners said
The balanced symbol equation for photosynthesis was well known. Amongst candidates that did not attain both marks, the left-hand side of the equation was more frequently correct than the righthand side.
— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0973/41 Q1(a) (Cambridge)
The products of photosynthesis were well known. The question asked for formulae rather than names. The formula of oxygen was sometimes given as 6O2, which did not gain credit.
— Examiner report, May/June 2019, 0973/41 Q1(c) (Cambridge)
This question was very well answered. Very few candidates muddled photosynthesis and respiration and only a very small number gave the word equation.
