What examiners said
Some candidates misidentified the nucleus as the acrosome. A few candidates were able to identify the nucleus but did not specify the haploid nature of the nucleus.
— Examiner report, May/June 2023, 0973/42 Q10(a)(i) (Cambridge)
This question was very well answered, with most candidates able to state the correct number of chromosomes as 23.
— Examiner report, May/June 2023, 0973/42 Q10(a)(ii) (Cambridge)
Not all candidates could correctly describe what is meant by a saturated hydrocarbon. Many incorrect responses mentioned the water content of the molecule, showing little understanding of technical terminology.
