What examiners said

Several fully correct nets were seen. Generally, the two 2 × 3 faces on the side of the given face were Correct. Some candidates drew four 2 × 6 faces. A small minority drew the 3D shape.

— Examiner report, May/June 2024, 0580/13 Q12 (Cambridge)

Nets were well constructed by most candidates with ruled lines and the correct number of added rectangles and triangles. Some responses omitted one of the rectangular sides, others gave all sides correctly drawn but the triangles positioned such that the sides would not align with the corresponding rectangular side. Other responses showed one correct rectangle. Others showed both triangles having...

— Examiner report, May/June 2023, 0580/12 Q10 (Cambridge)

Many candidates found drawing the net quite challenging. The common error was to show all four larger rectangles as 5 by 2.5, instead of two being 5 by 3. Some did not understand what a net is and attempted a 3-dimensional drawing. However, there were quite a number of well-drawn correct nets with rulers almost always used.
