What examiners said

Comprehensive responses • Fewer candidates identified the value of k using their answer from part (a). Limited responses • Errors included the incorrect use of x or k, or not making use of the answer to part (a).

— Examiner report, February/March 2026, 0606/22 Q1(c) (Cambridge)

Many candidates realised that they could make use of their solutions in part (b) and use the fact that x could be replaced by e2 y . Candidates with incorrect values of a and b, were again able to gain marks, in this case both marks associated with the solution of e2 y = 2. Fully correct solutions relied on e2y = −1 being either rejected or not considered.

— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0606/12 Q5(c) (Cambridge)

Many completely correct solutions were seen, although some candidates did not give their final answer in the correct form. Any errors were usually due to substitution of incorrect values.

— Examiner report, May/June 2025, 0606/12 Q6(a) (Cambridge)
